My family and I (wife and 2 kids) found ourselves in Santa Monica on a whim. We didn't have reservations and it was Friday night. We called OS and asked for rates. Every time we said we would think about it, the guy on the phone went down in price. We ended up taking the room for fear we wouldn't find any thing else, and it was right across from the beach (very nicely located). The room was nothing special. A little run down but not bad. The beds were small and not super comfortable but I've paid more for worse. I would recommend staying here if you plan on being out and about and not spending a lot of time in your room, which is why most people visit CA anyway, right? Super location, across from the SM pier and the beach. Lots of access to local shops and various restaurants, from fast food to candlelit. And the desk guy gave us a couple of different coupons for some of the local restaurants. Also, they have off street, underground parking for $* per night. Not bad considering what other places were charging around the beach. And try to get there as early as possible. The road in front of the hotel has terrible traffic at night. P.S. take some sunflower seeds to feed the pigeons!

This hotel has a great location for the Santa Monica Pier but it is way overpriced for what it is. The room was old and dingy and there were stains on the carpet and bedding and few towels in the bathroom and the tc didn't work correctly. We had 2 rooms: 1 courtyard view (which meant view of top of another building which had steaming dirty pipes on it) and 1 ocean view room (which was dirty and stained (bedding and carpet) and the view from our 2nd floor of the ocean was obstruced by a building! The management was unhelpful and I a, still waiting for a 2nd callback from the management company.

I stayed at the Ocean View on a recent business trip and was amazed at the great service I received from the front desk & the husekeeping. They really knew how to go above and beyond what I expected and the location was outstanding! Thanks Ocean View and I will stay with you every time I'm in Santa Monica. Can't wait to bring my family!.

two beds private balcony with ocean view, Santa Monica Beach. Unfortunately, this hotel is the equivalent to an over price Motel 6. Front desk management was not attentive and rude to needs of residence. Called management 3 times to fix TV remote and the third time remote was still not working. Was, greeted with thin walls, residence and street traffic noise. Entrance to small parking garage is an accident waiting to happen for vehicles. Continental breakfast looked like it was, served in small lobby hallway with people coming and going. Breakfast was bagels, juice, cereal, and coffee was it, so did not hang around.
