I stayed at this hotel with my boyfriend on New Years Eve expecting a nice hotel based on the photos above. I was very excited about coming to this hotel but this was the worst hotel I have even stayed in. And the customer service was absolutely terrible. Our bathroom was not cleaned and we called down to the svc desk several times and did not get an answer. We were not able to enjoy the facilities because we were scared to leave our room. People tried to drunkenly get in our room all night. We wanted to leave at 3am but couldnt get a hold of anyone at the front desk to tell us how to check out and were afraid to walk back downstairs. Do not stay at this hotel.

Nice Hotel, situated close to airport, a $25 cab ride from downtown. There were dozens of partying high school band members from the Rose parade, in the public areas but the room was quiet and we were not disturbed. The staff was very attentive to making sure the other guests were not inconvienced. The proximity to the airport was nice It was an easy 15 minute walk. Unfortunatelly the reason for the walk was that the 1st shuttle of the morning was scheduled for so late that it would have made the check-in boarding process too frantic for our comfort.

I attended a FAA Flight Instructor Renewal course on 1/12/2008 and 1/13, so stayed overnight on Saturday at this hotel. I repeatedly checked various travel search engine sites as well as the hotel chain's own site up to a week ahead of the event. There were no varied rates for identical day and type of room, so just use the hotel web site ( I guess ). I paid $142 plus various tax kick-ups. The room was fine and functional, but the bed's mattress was on the too-soft side for my preference. Room service ( breakfast ) was fine & on-time. The course's large hotel meeting room was acceptable, but bring a sweater or light jacket because, at times, the room's A/C would cut-in and we'd all be on the chilly side. My only disappointment was that AOPA, a contractor for the FAA, picked a hotel with room rates at these high $/night. I travel and know that hotel room rates can be found in the $50 to less than $100/night fairly easily. Also, I was disappointed that the various search engine sites all had quoted rates that were identical to the hotel's site. When I see that situation ( like when TurboTax and TaxCut prices at various electronic retail stores are ALL identical right down to the exact penny ), I immediately start thinking of price-fixing. Anyway, bottom line: I would stay there again IF I had to attend the course at the same hotel two years from now ( based upon the convenience concept ). The room was clean, orderly, quiet, equipment all worked, and the staff was super-courteous.
