Was conveniently located to my job site. Rooms were comfortable and clean. Staff was friendly and accomodating. Morning breakfast was very much appreciated by my crew and we took full advantage of it. We would definitely stay here again.

it's not cheap because in Santa Monica. It's close to freeway 5, and not so far from beach, if you have a car. Room is clean, front desk is friendly, you can connect internet with cable that they can rent. Swimming pool is nice.

The room itself was small but adequate (hardly anywhere to put suitcases with two queen beds, a table and two chairs filling up most of the room). We liked the mini frig, but didn't get a microwave. Everything, including the carpet, seemed clean, the bed/pillows were comfy, and it was quiet at night. The pool was small and rather barren, but nicely warmed. The breakfast, as others noted, was nice but in a cramped room and a bit of a feeding frenzy unless you got there early. The hotel is directly on the Big Blue Bus line, which runs to UCLA to Venice Beach, passing through the Santa Monica highlights along the way -- very handy! The main issue I had with this hotel was the odd layout. Rooms were divided around two sets of open-balconied courtyards. It was a very convoluted process to navigate around to get places (we had to carry our breakfast trays out onto the street to get to/from our room). All the common areas were covered with green Astroturf, which looked cheesy but kept the noise down, I guess.

Our family of 4 had a very nice stay on the third floor of the Santa Monica Comfort Inn. The front staff was helpfull in providing a map to the beach area and giving tips on parking. You do have to drive or take a cab to the pier area... it is a little far to walk. The beds were comfortable and the room size was adequate for the 4 of us (2 adults, 2 teens). The breakfast was very good. My daughter complained that the air conditioner was too noisy for her.

Got a decent price off Travelocity ($120). Two beds (K&Q), both very comfortable, with lots of comfy pillows. TV stunk - poor reception. But we weren't there to watch TV. Location OK - had to drive the 20 blocks to the Pier, but didn't take long. Bathroom was adequate, and room had a little fridge and microwave, which came in handy. Best features were the free breakfast, which was pretty substantial. Make your own waffles, which the kids loved. Plus fruit, muffins, cereal, juice, and good coffee. Free parking, which is a bonus. Small, basic pool, but it was heated (maybe too much!). Area was OK - pretty commercial, but didn't seem dangerous. One piece of advice -- get a room on the top floor, preferably away from the street. Or, there is also a building of one story rooms. Our biggest complaint was we could hear every step of the people above us, who went to bed at midnight, and got up at 5 a.m. I would imagine the rooms on the street are loud as well.
Overall, not a bad place for the money. I would stay again if I could get a room with no one over it!
