My husband and I recently stayed on the Queen Mary for our anniversary. We stayed there once before about 20 years ago in an inside cabin, and I remembered the room being very small but cool because of the history. This time we booked an upgraded room with a bay side view and the room was much larger that we had expected and very nicely decorated. The bed was amazingly comfortable and the bathroom was very clean and so pretty with cute black and white tile-work. The view from our porthole windows was great. We looked straight across the water to the city and aquarium and there were beautiful sail boats that went by all day long, I kept taking pictures. For dinner we went to Chelsea Chowder House Bar on board. We were excited about their happy hour prices for drinks and appetizers. We were surprised to find out that the happy hour prices are only available in the lounge area and you will pay full price if you order one of their special drinks or if you specify an alcohol brand. So my advice is order your favorite kind of drink (in the lounge area) and use "house" alcohol. It is unfortunate that you have to pay to park there even if you are a hotel guest, but you have to take into consideration that it is an antique ship that has to be maintained. It is a beautiful ship with lots of history and it has really long hallways that seem to go on forever. The elevators are the originals, they freaked me out. Very jumpy and creaky.We did'nt go on the haunted tour this time, but are planning a trip this summer with our kids so they can experience it. It is very cool!!

The Queen Mary is a hotel brought back to its original art deco splendor with all the comforts and services of a luxury hotel. The staff was very helpful and attentive to all our needs, from needing extension cords to requiring a cabin change due to an airconditioning problem. The ship gives you a taste of years past with the comforts of today. We were treated like first-class passengers even though the ship never leaves its port.

We had a GREAT time on the Queen Mary!!! Our room was very nice and warm, which was good because there was a very cool breeze. Turns out California was having unseasonal weather while we were there. Patrick at the front desk was very helpful in finding a beach for my husband and I to watch the sun set. ! Walking around the ship at night by our selves was romantic and I would tell everyone to go.

I found the ship to be very intriguing! If you realize the age and beauty of the ship and are not expecting to find the most modern of appointments (the charm), if you think you can enjoy the experience of this well aged ship, i would recommend it. I don't think i would stay for more than a weekend. That said, i thought it was fascinating. Didn't appreciate having to pay for parking!

Took my girlfriend here because it sounded neat. Great pick! On Friday and Saturday nights the whole ship comes alive with the bars being packed and one had a great band. I'd definitely recommend this for a couple, even if you live down the street!
