My friend and I booked a room in this hotel to attend the Eukanuba Dog Show at the convention Center. We booked in September and received a confirmation number for our reservation and room rate. We checked in after a long day at the airport and were told that there would be an additional fee for the dog, which we already knew and agreed to that charge being added. After getting to our room we checked the charge on the printout that was given to us on check-in. The rate was quite a bit higher than what we had booked and confirmed even with the pet fee. The next day we talked to the manager and were told that due to the dog show the rates had increased since our booking and we were required to pay the higher per day rate. He refused to give us a copy of the invoice that we signed on check in which did not itemize the fees. When we checked out 4 days later, we again protested the increase in daily rate and again asked for a copy of the signed invoice. We were again refused but the printout that he gave us on check-out had the additional room rate charges removed. However my credit card was charged the additional fee. This hotel is running some sort of fraudulent scam with their rates. They do not honor confirmed rates quoted at time of booking. I have never had anything like this happen in many years of travel and staying in many hotels. I will never patronize any Vagabond hotel again.

We booked this hotel based on the cost, bad choice. Although it was said to be close to the convention center is was too far to walk and definitely not in a safe neighborhood. Across from a rather large bar that played music all night long, which we could hear, only to be drowned out by the trucks as they passed by. The shower was broken, the paint was peeling on the wall, let's just say the decor was lets eclectic. Parking was limited in the front, with parking the back in narrow spaces, and a general feeling of you could get mugged if you parked there. There were no coffee pots in the rooms. The pictures for the entire hotel are deceiving as the pool is quite tiny and not at all as pictured. The towels were old and barely useful. The wireless was difficult to connect to and barely worked most of the time. The staff was friendly, but that is about all I can say positive for this hotel.

I have stayed in many hotels but I have to say the vagabond is quite possibly the worst. the bathtub was backed up in the morning so it was not possible to take a shower. and when you turned on the heater it smelled like someone had dropped 1000 dead rats in the heater. the room was dirty, the sheets hadn"t been changed. I should have called the health inspectors but I didn"t, I don"t then anyone should be forced to stay in a place like that even if it is the last thing available.

The Vagabond is nothing more than a place to sleep the physical condition of the facility is in need of improvement. Our bed squeaked, the carpets in the rooms and halls were worn and in some places threadbare. For the money spent one would expect at least a small frig and microwave in the room. The tub fixtures were old and leaky the tub was stained and looked dirty. Have stayed in $* a night "Mom and Pop" motels that were cleaner and more modern than the Vagabond.
