We really enjoyed our stay at this very clean and pleasing hotel. Staff was very polite, everything was clean, the room was elegant without being too costly, and the location was excellent for shopping and site seeing. They had beautiful Christmas decorations too.

I thoroughly enjoyed my recent stay at the Sophia Hotel; it was close enough to the conference hotel I was attending a meeting at but no where near the price! The ammenities were very nice - as was the surrounding area. I would definitely stay at this hotel again in the future!

Sophisticated decor, friendly, helpful staff, convenient location and amenities. My bed with duvet cover was super comfortable, I didn't want to leave it in the morning. And as I was traveling on a budget I appreciated the relationship between the Sofia and SuperShuttle. It made for an economical and easy transfer between this downtown hotel and the airport. The Sofia is also walking distance to the port, steps from Gaslamp restaurants & clubs & Horton shopping mall and around the corner from public transport and Old Trolley tour offices. Without having to make a request, as a tourist without a car I was given a walking map as I checked in, with highlighting to guide my return to the hotel I was also provided with a room upgrade Consequently, my two nights at the Sofia hotel Exceeded my expectations. My only suggested improvement would be the provision of wifi in the room as a complimentary service. I am only sorry that I didn't have the time to try the exercise or yoga room or spa services. However, I would Definitely return to the Sofia hotel

Perfect stay. Certified historic hotel, sophisticated decor, extremely comfortable room and bedding. Excellent staff at all levels, polite, gracious, and very helpful. Currant Brasseries has a fine bar, excellent food, and great espresso. Please remember that this is an elegant city hotel, so do not expect typical large chain hotel rooms. One of the top five hotels at which I have ever stayed. I would welcome a return to this fine hotel.

Very nice hotel. Enjoyable stay. Provided nice walking tour on the history of the area. Friendly staff. Nice bar. Room was a bit noisy at times but didn't disturb our sleep. Walking distance to most activities.
