This is my second time staying at Sunset Beach. The view is spectacular and the staff are more than willing to assist you. We had to boil water for three days because a pipe broke. For a 4 or 5 star hotel the problem was not rectified in a reasonable amount of time. The staff did not offer to move us to another bldg and we had to call to determine if any compensation would be disbursed because of the inconvenience. We did not have any hot water and the management only alotted $* per day for compensation.

Wow! Photos don't convey how gorgeous and luxurious this resort is. Suites are set high into cliffs so the view of the Pacific is wonderful. We were fortunate to get a central room that was close to the lobby, each of the pools, and all of the restaurants. Since the resort grounds are huge, you need to hop on a golf cart (they frequent often) to trek you around. Walking is certainly doable, but unless you are close to the location you are tryin to reach, the uphill walk can be tiring. The resort is about a 10 min. ride into town (the swimmable Medano Beach/marina area) or a flat $* cab ride. Even though this got costly, it was totally worth it since PBSB is on a private beach in which you aren't bothered by constant vendors that consume the more touristy areas. If you want to be in a more happening, younger area with bars 20 feet away, go with SB's sister resort - Rose. I was surprised no one mentioned in the many reviews I read how difficult it was to get on the free shuttles. Virtually impossible- they get booked several hours in advance. The resort was incredibly clean, we would constantly see staff cleaning. We never had one person come up to us to attempt a timeshare sell and staff was out-of-their-way friendly, a huge plus. We were really pleased with their helpfulness. Everyone was bilingual so we never encountered language barriers. Also, never heard supposed construction taking place, so no worries there. Main pool is packed - stick with the smaller (but equally beautiful) pools and you'll never have a hard time grabbin chairs. Also, be sure to chekc out the Sky/infinity pool - so serene. Not an adults-only resort, but not an issue.

This is our 3rd year coming to Cabo and staying at Sunset Beach. What a wonderful place to come and visit. The atmosphere, and the employees make you want to come back every year. This year we did try the activities sponsored by PB at the Rose, we made reservations to Jet ski and snorkeling. What a horrible experience. The Jet ski place is expensive and the life jackets did not have clasps to close the jacket and were very old.. The boat to go out snorkeling w/lunch and all kinds of water activites, turned out to be horrible. The snorkel gear was outdated, the personnel on the boat walked around with a can expecting tips, snorkel area was lame and the food had been set out probably from the previous day. Never again would I book any activity thru PB. My advise would be to walk along the marina and check it all out for yourself before booking any activity. Also, don't drink the water or ice anywhere in Cabo, we are barely recovering.
