I went with my teenage daughter and her friend. Excellent selection. I would definitely stay there again. We barely needed a rental car because the public transportation is easily accessible. Other resorts appeared more luxurious but would not have fit our needs like this one, and they did not have this ideal location. Very safe for older teenagers to be on their own. Nice!

We had an amazing trip to San Diego, and outstanding service at the Catamaran. I called the hotel the week before our arrival to ask if they had crib rentals for our 8 month old, they said "YES" and they were complimentary! When we arrived at the Catamaran they had upgraded our room to a bayside suite and the crib was already set up for us! Our 3 year old really enjoyed the famous Catamaran birds and my husband and I enjoyed our awesome view! Thank you Catamaran we loved our stay!

The hotel was clean and lovely. The other guests were nice. The place did not get very noisy on the weekends but had a nice upbeat quality the whole week we were there. Friendly staff. They have very cute ducks running around the property -- next time I am bringing my grand children. Comfortable beds, nice studio kitchen -- with stove, fridge, coffee pot, microwave, dishes and pots. The beach area was also clean. And the spa was delightful!

This hotel is in a great location and the rate was very reasonable for what you receive. The staff was always very helpful and friendly. Please be aware however that this hotel is not right on the beach. Mission Bay is directly at the back of the hotel but to get to the ocean you have to cross Mission Blvd (very busy street). The very large hot tub was a great place to relax and socialize with other guests after a long day of sightseeing.

My husband and I stayed at this hotel for a romantic Christmas 2010 getaway. This is a very nice hotel with superb and helpful staff. However, there was one incident that I would like to point out, after enjoying a long day out in San Diego, we returned to our hotel room with the inability to gain access to the room via our room entry card. We had to make the long track back to the guest services main desk to inquire as to why we could not enter our hotel room. We were informed that the hotel had checked us out of our hotel room. The staff was very helpful and resolved the issue after learning that the hotel staff had made this error in checking us out of our room without our permission. After this short ordeal, the hotel staff, agreed to provide my husband and I with a free breakfast at the hotel’s restaurant for the following day – yes, the food was great and the restaurant staff was very attentive in serving us. Overall this hotel appears to have a policy of meeting its guest’s needs and I must admit that they do a great job at it. This is definitely a hotel that I would recommend, the tropical grounds is beautiful, the room was great, the bed was comfortable, and there were lots of available towels. This hotel and its staff deserve a “10” out of “10” for providing us with a wonderful stay.
