At first I was a little appalled when I saw our room, cause the pictures in the internet definitely showed nicer and bigger rooms. But actually it was quite a good deal, the hotel was just a few steps away from the harbor and the gaslamp quarter was right around the corner! We stayed there for 4 nights but were sightseeing all day long so we just slept there. I would not recommend this to people who plan to stay at the room all day long, cause its pretty small (but very clean!). Go there if you need a cheap and clean place to stay.

I found the hotel to be walking distance to many of the attractions found in San Diego. If you needed to take a cab to the convention center it ran less than $*.00 with the tip. The room was sparse but that is what I paid for. I would recommend this hotel to those who have to count every penny and want a big bang for their buck.

Even though room was small with a shared bathroom (right across the hall), it worked out perfectly for me! I was able to walk (with my luggage!) from the train station to the hotel, and from the hotel to bus stops, mass transit, and downtown San Diego. There are LOTS of stores/shops/grocery/coffee in the immediate area. I would certainly stay again. It met my needs.

When we checked in the girl at the front desk was very friendly and everything seemed clean. On our way to our room we noticed everything was quite run down, but nothing that new carpet and a fresh coat of paint wouldnt fix. We got to our room and it was very small, but everything looked clean and kind of cute. So we went to bed.... when i woke in the morning i was itching like crazy, i looked down and i had bites all over my stomach and arms... then my boyfriend noticed a bed bug crawling on the wall.... The girl at the front desk was very nice about it, she apologized and switched us rooms, then she gave me money to do laundry. The new room was on a different floor and there were no signs of bugs, so we stayed another night. I wouldnt go back.

I think I would pay no more than $* a night for this place. I don't mind having the bathrooms and showers down the hall. However, it was very noisy and uncomfortable.
