The extra $* is worth it for any other hotel. This place is absolutely terrible. I don't think they clean the rooms, the bedding and pillows are scratchy and hard, you might as well sleep in an alley; It's about as safe.

While you consider Santa Monica a tourist destination that is true but our stay wasn't as pleasant as I would like. I paid approximately $*** but there were very few towels and they gave us 4 small packs of soap for two adults and a 15 year old teenager. Also the lock on the door was hardly secure as anyone could have busted down the door. I will stay in Santa Monica in the near future but not at this place.

Came over from Australia and stayed here 2 nights recently. I can't vouch for the other rooms but the one I stayed in was quite reasonable. Was a fairley clean room, although a patch of carpet near the bed could have been cleaned a little better (looked liked a couple had been having a good time there). Upon arrival, the lady in the office during the day, was nice to speak with and was presentable and quite attractive too I thought. Everything worked, the lights, curtains, shower/bath etc.. Bed was big and comfy enough I guess. No horrible smells in my room or anything, so I would stay again if ever over that way again. Bonus too, if you like live music was: There was a bar directly across the road that actually had some good bands. Also, I didn't have a car, so the bus stops only a short walking distance to the corner, came in very handy.

Will never stay again, couldn't tell if these were apartments or a motel. The worst motel/hotel i've ever stayed at, first time i've felt the need to write a review. I'm not at all picky on where i stay so i was not shocked by the condition of the room, which was "not good". My review is on the area, though very close to the pier, the area is not good. I didn't feel safe in my room or leaving my phone, camera, computer etc. in the room. There were actually a couple of guys hanging out a window who offered us drugs. Just wanted to get the warning out there.
