We stayed at Los Arcos in June for the first time, and will go back. The hotel is older, but it adds to the charm. The courtyard/pool area is quite lovely, and it is right on the beach. The room istelf was just ok. A little musty smelling, but who goes on vacation to spend most of their time in a hotel room? The location of Los Arcos is fantastic. You can walk everywhere, but if you do need a cab, they are right outside. There was so much to do in Vallarta, we had a hard time choosing! Our concierge helped us out with deciding. I recommend doing the Rythyms of the Night cruise. It was amazing. Our Concierge also told us which places to eat at, and which to avoid! He was a great help to us.

We have been coming to PV annually for 21 years and have stayed at Los Arcos Suites for last 12 years. Earlier stays were at main hotel Playa Los Arcos. Sadly the last two visits did not meet expectations. Both times there was a problem with our reservation even tho we had booked about two months in advance. The first time they put us in a tiny, tiny room behind the front desk. Room was at street level so we had to keep drapes closed all the time for privacy. After complaining and complaining we were able to switch rooms the second day. However, the switch took several hours of being told to come back at noon, at 1Pm, at 2pm only to be told new room was yet ready. Finally got into new room. Last Feb we booked room in advance and upon arrival were told that even tho we had a reservation, they did not have a room for us at the Suites and we would have to go to Los Arcos. Even tho they were supposedly expecting us we had to stand in line and wait and wait. Got to our room, which was not one of the better rooms, and then the next day had to stand in line to check out, arrange for storage of luggage, etc. Although owned by same company we had to pay separately for one night at Los Arcos. Somehow we ended up paying more than quoted price. Then around round of being told to go to the Suites at noon, no rooms ready come back, several times. Wasted several hours. Nothing offered to compensate us for wasted time. Not even a free drink coupon. Looking for a different place this January. Also hot tub is lukewarm.

We were pleased with our accomodations. The rate was reasonable for the quality. The staff was helpful and honest. Our room was spacious, with a kitchenette, and a balcony with an ocean view (albeit in the distance.) The bed was comfortable and the room was quiet. I can be a bit of a baby about sleeping in a hotel but I slept well there. It was within walking distance of restaurants, the beach, bars, shopping, the malecon (boardwalk), etc., right off the main strip. It is in the Romantic Zone of the Viejo Vallarta. I am so glad we stayed in the Romantic Zone instead of Nuevo Vallarta, which seems very cheesey. Los Arcos has a cozy heated pool and you may use the Playa Arcos pools, beach, etc., which is right around the corner. We did not choose the ""all inclusive package"" and were satisfied to select our own restaurants, etc., in Puerto Vallarta. We did not have a bad meal. The only complaints are that the bathroom is a little out of date and small. The shower water pressure was good though. The room smelled musty when we arrived but they brought us a dehumidifier and it took care of the smell. The room had small ants but we just kept our food in the refigerator. We would definitely stay there again.
